Jack Tar Engineering & Explosives is a small family owned and operated business situated in Darwin. We encompass a broad range of engineering, from fitting and machining, to welding and explosives.  Jack Tar Engineering & Explosives can manufacture anything from a bolt to a stainless steel expansion joint. With reliable service and attention to detail, no matter how big or small the job;  from general machining, welding – tig, mig and oxy, design and manufacture, stainless steel corrugated hose asemblies and pump connectors, licenced Shot Firer, pump overhauls and machinery maintenance.

     Teds Are Us is now part of our manufacturing business.  We manufacture and service Turtle Exclusion Devices (TEDs) or Bycatch Reduction Devices (BRDs) for the Northern Australian prawn fishing industry and have just completed a large order of small ‘Super Shooter’ TEDs for an overseas fishing company.

     We are constantly improving our designs and have currently begun to manufacture an oval-shaped aluminium bar, which is now available.
