TILAPIA

Tilapia is a freshwater whitefish feeding on vegetable proteins. It has a mild sweet flavor, and firm meat with a fine texture. It has become very popular with chefs as it is versatile and accepts flavor from sauces and spices. Tilapia has no intramuscular bones. Tilapia is highly resistant against diseases and is the second most cultured fish in the world.

Increasingly, tilapia is becoming a substitute for other white fish, such as cod. It is excellent for fillet dinners as well as for industrial products like surimi.

SHRIMP

Shrimp is the largest seafood item in international trade, constituting approximately 1/5 of all international seafood trade.

CRAWFISH

The red swamp crawfish is extremely abundant on the flood plains of many rivers in China, as well as smaller lakes and rice fields. All crawfish produced by Royal Supreme Seafood are wild catch, with the season lasting from late April through October.

Supreme crawfish is caught mainly in the provinces Zhejiang, Hubei, Jiangxi, Jiangsu and Anhui. Refer to map for reference.

Farmers typically catch smaller volumes that are collected by local traders until a truckload is filled. The crawfish is transported live in plastic cases directly to our processing facilities. They can survive for days, but time from catch to our factory is usually less than 12 hours.

Royal Supreme Seafood is the largest exporter of crawfish tailmeat in China. We are also the largest supplier of crawfish tailmeat to Europe. Through our fully owned processing plant in Zhejiang, and several lock-up agreements with other processors, we control close to half the Chinese production of crawfish produced for exports.
