FISHING REPORTS
from some of the BEST PLACES TO FISH !

Port Alberni Inlet, Barkley Sound, Ucluelet (West Coast)
 Somas-Stamp River System.
The fishing in the area is beginning to pickup in saltwater areas. Fresh water fishing in the Somass-Stamp River has been generally slow over the last month. During the last week guides have been averaging three Steelhead per day. Barkley Sound has picked up with some good days of Winter Chinook fishing. Ucluelet unlike Barkley Sound has been difficult to fish as the weather systems have made the water a bit difficult for fishing. There have been some good days however between weather systems. Areas close to the beach and close to the mouth of the Ucluelet Harbor have reported a few winter Chinook...   18 February 2008

Klickitat Guided Salmon and Steelhead Trips The Klickitat is a free flowing glacier (no dams) river that flows off  the east flanks of  Washington States south central cascade range Mt  Adams. This is a drift boat only river. Our guide service holds the only  fishing guide use permit on the wild and scenic section of the  Klickitat. These salmon and steelhead are hard fighting and fresh from  the ocean.12 February 2008

We are in the midst of winter and like most winters the fishing is as one could expect.  The fishing off the west coast can have the odd break in weather but often weather fronts create problems with wind, which leads to the problem of ones ability to fish.  Barkley Sound has had some fishable days and there has been some winter Chinook fishing in areas.  The Winter Steelhead fishing has been slower over the last week although this past Saturday and Sunday afternoons some nice bright fish were picked up by guests with river guides.  11 January 2008

Port Alberni Inlet, Barkley Sound, Ucluelet (West Coast),
 Somas-Stamp River System.
Winter is closing in and the last couple of weeks have shown signs that cooler and shorter days are closing in. Most of the fishing opportunity in the Port Alberni and Ucluelet sport fishing area has been on the Somas-Stamp River System. The area of Barkley Sound and Bamfield and of course Ucluelet has had some feeder spring (winter) fishing. These areas will get only better as bait moves in during the course of the winter and early spring. 05 December 2007

Port Alberni Inlet, Barkley Sound, Ucluelet (West Coast),
 Somas-Stamp River System.
The Salmon Season in the area has pretty well come to an end.  All fishing for any migrating salmon off of Ucluelet and the surflline of Barkley sound is all but over.  The feeder spring fishing in these two areas is picking up as it often does at this time of year. 30 October 2007

Port Alberni Inlet, Barkley Sound, Ucluelet (West Coast),
 Somas-Stamp River System.
Plenty of salmon are entering
the lower river daily but the high water has made it difficult to
fish during the past few days. If the weather clears for a number
of days the river will fall to better fishing levels.
