The goal of the current phase of ODINAFRICA is to improve the management of coastal and marine resources and the environment in participating countries by: enhancing data flows into the national oceanographic data and information centres in the participating countries, strengthening the capacity of these centres to analyse and interpret the data so as to develop products required for integrated management of the coastal areas of Africa, and increase the delivery of services to end users.

West African Sustainable Seafood Development Alliance - WASSDA supports the sustainable development of the West African fisheries and seafood sector. The Alliance fosters awareness of economic, environmental and social concerns pertaining to the fisheries and seafood sector in West Africa and provides public and private sector stakeholders with a platform to exchange useful information and best practices towards a sustainable seafood sector. WASSDA fosters cooperation among West African seafood sector stakeholders in order to support sustainable seafood socio-economic and long-term environmental development in conjunction with the preservation of African fishing industry competitiveness in the global market.The Alliance builds networks among the full spectrum of seafood professionals in West Africa - from fishermen, traders, fishmongers, scientists, conservationists, marine authorities, to policymakers - providing a variety of workshop programs, offering a platform for sharing best practices, fostering awareness of and dialogue on good fishing methods and ocean health and sustainability issues.
