- A nice size Almaco Jack ate and went in the fish box for Bob’s
fresh fish dinner. After a few pictures, we dropped down bait number
two and hooked an Amberjack that didn’t give in easily. We
skillfully released the Amberjack and relocated to do some Big Game

salmon fishing especially on the coastline of West Vancouver Island
has been rather spectacular for salmon. Halibut fishing has also

was raining quite heavily as we headed south and the further we
drove the gloomier it got. By the time we crossed the Mulgrave river
at Gordonvale we were already contemplating contingency

Blackwater Lodge & Salmon Fishery - the river has been
rather coloured & peat-stained, but fish have been caught every day
since, albeit with few anglers out on the river. The water was very
peaty, which meant fish weren’t taking so well and quite a number of
fish were lost, including several double–figure fish.
