Diving Locations - Mergui Archepelago and The Burma Banks
Diving is possible between October and May. The Park is visited as Liveaboard excursions from Phuket.

 

The Burma Banks
The Burma Bank is a series of elevated undersea plateaus with sporadic coral coverage which is frequented by large reef fish and pelagics. Resident sharks include silvertips and tawny nurse sharks.

Visibility 5 - 25 metres
Currents Weak to strong
Surface Conditions -
Diver Level Beginners (with dive guide) and up

 

 

Western Rocky
The Western Rocky dive site has tunnels, caves and walls. This great site has a healthy coverage of both hard and soft corals with a high diversity of marine life of all sizes form minute invertebrates up to whale sharks.

Visibility 15 - 25 metres

Diver Level Beginners (with dive guide) and up

 

 

High Rock
On the High Rock dive, hard and soft corals can be found. Although visibility is usually low there are plenty of small creatures to see including Seahorses, Pipefish, shells and Nudibranchs. The variety of tiny crabs and Shrimps is also extraordinarily high.

Three Islets
Three Stooges
Bishops Fancy

This is a fantastic site with everything you could wish for. There are swim - throughs, reefs, boulders and walls. Corals here include hard and soft species, While the main attraction here are the Grey Reef Sharks and an endless supply of invertebrates and small critters. This is a photographer's nightmare as there is simply too much to choose from.

North & South Twin Islands
The Twin Islands feature large boulders and extensive coral slopes of hard and soft corals. The former island is favoured for it's selection of nudibranchs and small creatures.

Black Rock
This solitary rocky outcrop acts as a magnet for pelagics including Eagle Rays and Mantas. The abundance of marine life around the steep reefs and walls includes Grey Reef Shark, Black Tip and Bull Sharks, Snappers and Fusiliers. On a smaller scale, there is an abundance of invertebrates.
