COMB FISHING

Static electricity
is a kid's favourite phenomenom. Here's
a simple game to introduce kids (both Peter Pans and Lost
Boys) to science while keeping fishing in our agenda.
Materials: plastic
combs, paper

Each player
cuts 10 small fish shapes out of the paper. Recycle some old gift wrapping paper to add color to the quarry.

Each player vigorously combs his/her hair for 15-30 seconds then holds the "fishing rod" (comb) over their pile of fish.

The static electricity will seem to make the paper fish come to life, dancing and writhing about.

Players try to "catch" the fish by holding the comb near the papers but not touching them. The fish will "jump" to the comb and attach themselves. Some will attach themselves to other fish, too.

Count the number of
fish caught to determine a winner.

It may seem like a simple pastime in this Y2Krazy age, but
kids will be amazed...as well they should be.
