The Tomato Cod is also known as the
Coral Cod.
The Tomato Cod is a beautifully coloured fish, predominantly a bright red with numerous
black edged, brilliant blue spots all over the body and fins. It is often confused
with the Coral Trout, but the difference is that it has a rounded caudal fin.
They are found in tropical and warm waters in northern Australia. It lives on
coral reefs and feeds on the bottom.
Not a fussy eater and will readily take most fish baits, prawns and other shellfish.
