Maori Cod (Epinephelus undulatrostriatus) Photographs and Information



Rock cods inhabit rocky reefs, coral and other rough bottoms offshore in warmer seas.

The body is elongated and compressed.  The Maori Cod has a series of fine teeth.  The caudal fin is rounded.  The body is a light shade of brown with narrow golden stripes.  The pectoral fin is bright yellow and all the fins are edged with yellow.  It grows to a weight of about 5kg.
